Terms and Conditions

We do our best to make sure our terms are clear, but if there’s anything you’re not sure of just give us a call or send an email and we will be happy to help you.  
For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “you/your” refers to the customer, and “we/our/us” refers to Worthington Brougham Furniture Ltd.

Payment

Ownership of the goods you are buying from us transfers to you once we have received payment in full. You can pay for your order with any of the following methods: cash, debit or credit card, PayPal including PayPal Credit, eBay, bank transfer or faster payment. If you pay online or over the phone we will deliver your order to the address registered on your card or PayPal account. If you need delivery somewhere else, for example if you’re moving house or have a holiday home, please contact us before you pay.

Delivery

It is your responsibility to make sure that the furniture you are buying will fit into your home. This includes checking the sizes of any doorways, halls, stairs etc to make sure there is enough room for the delivery people to bring your furniture inside. We will do our best to help you with this, so please let us know as soon as possible if there are stairs, narrow hallways or doorways, if you will be unable to help the delivery person, or anything else you can think of that might make your delivery difficult. If your furniture does not fit you can return it to us for a full refund, but you will be charged for the return delivery so it is always best to check this beforehand! All delivery charges given are for delivery into the ground floor of the property unless stated otherwise.  
When your order is delivered you will be asked to inspect it and sign for the condition of it on arrival. We want to make sure that your order arrives in the same great condition as it left us, so please take the opportunity to check the furniture before you sign. Storage

We will always book your delivery for the next available date unless you ask us to store your order for you. If you need us to store your purchase for longer than a week please let us know when you place your order. If you don’t tell us, we may charge up to £10 per day for storage beyond the first week, but we will let you know before this charge is applied. If you cancel your order after we have stored it for you we will charge you a set fee of £50 per week to cover our costs.

Cancellations and Returns

If your furniture does not fit, or if you change your mind for any other reason, you can return it to us within 30 days of delivery for a refund. The return delivery charge is £1 per mile with a minimum charge of £50, or you can bring your furniture back to our showroom yourself. You need to take good care of anything you want to return to us, and make sure that it comes back to us in the same condition as it was when you received it. That means returning it with enough packaging to make sure it doesn’t get damaged in transit, and not using it before it is collected by the delivery company.  If you do not have the original packaging we can supply additional packaging for you if you ask. If the furniture comes back to us dirty or damaged we will deduct the cost of cleaning and repairing it from your refund. Cleaning costs a maximum of £50 per seat, the cost of a repair will depend on the nature of the damage. If you return furniture that is used we will deduct the difference in value for it having been used, and we may refuse the return if it is in poor condition and you have kept it for longer than fourteen days.
If you cancel your order before it has been dispatched there will be no additional charges beyond the cost of storage, if applicable.


Some of the furniture we sell is ex display or other clearance, and it may have the odd mark or other cosmetic issue. We do our best to make sure we give you an accurate description of the condition of all of our furniture when we sell it online, and we are available to answer any questions you have about the item. If you are buying in store, we recommend you take the opportunity to inspect the item you’re interested in and ask any questions while you are here.  
If you have any issues with your order that you were not aware of when you made your purchase, please contact us as soon as possible. If you notice a problem with your order when it arrives we would ask that you do not sign for it but instead get in touch with us to report the issue right away. If you have opted to purchase a five year warranty you can find instructions on how to make a claim on your warranty certificate.

Our 30 day returns policy is offered in addition to your statutory rights on all purchases of upholstery and furniture. All of our other accessories and homewares come with a standard 14 day returns policy and must be returned in the original packaging and in the same condition as you received them. For hygeine reasons we don't accept returns on sheets, duvet sets/bedding or mattresses if they have been removed from the original packaging.
