Terms and Conditions

We want to make our terms and conditions as easy to follow as possible, so if there’s anything you’re not sure of please get in touch.


This website can process payments made through SagePay with a credit or debit card, or via PayPal. We also accept payment by card over the phone, and by bank transfer. If you’re visiting our store you can pay by cash, card or if you arrange this ahead of time we also take payment via building society cheque. 

Delivery will be made to your payment address only. If you’re using PayPal, you will need to select the delivery address on PayPal when you go to pay. If you’re paying directly via card, your order will be delivered to the address your card is registered to. Orders that have been paid for via bank transfer or in store can be delivered anywhere you want or collected by yourself or your designated courier.

We do our best to ensure our website is fully up to date and correct in terms of pricing and available stock, but in a fast paced business like ours this can be difficult. Acceptance of your order occurs when we send you confirmation of the dispatch date, tracking information or a notice of acceptance. In the unlikely event that we cannot fulfil your order we will notify you as soon as possible.


Please let us know of any circumstances that may make delivery to your property difficult, such as poor access, narrow doorways, stairs or if you will be unable to help. When purchasing large items we strongly recommend that you measure your doorways and hallways thoroughly, as it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the item will fit. Delivery to your room of choice is offered at the driver’s discretion.

Deliveries are charged based on your location and the size of your order, as detailed on our deliveries page. There is a surcharge for all deliveries that involve a boat, plane or ferry crossing. If you are located outside of the UK mainland, or on an area marked as pink on our delivery map, please contact us for a delivery quote to your address.


Most of our furniture is delivered within 1-3 weeks, depending on your location, but we can store orders for longer if requested. Please contact us prior to purchase if you require storage for longer than one week. Your order will be wrapped and removed from our showroom floor to make space for new stock. If you don’t arrange storage with us ahead of time, we reserve the right to charge a fee of up to £10 per day after the first two weeks. You will be notified before any additional payment is requested.  We only have limited storage space and do not allow third-party couriers to store our products, so your new sofa or suite will remain with us in our showroom or warehouse until it is collected by the driver for delivery.  We understand things don’t always go smoothly, so if you need to delay your delivery please contact us as soon as possible.


In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase or wish to cancel, please contact us directly on our usual phone number, via post or by email and we will do our best to resolve any issues. We want to ensure that all our customers are happy with their purchase and the service they receive. The following terms apply to all situations where you have not inspected goods prior to purchase, including purchases made online.

You have the right to cancel your order within 30 days of delivery without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire after 30 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier arranged by us and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the goods. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us: Worthington Brougham Furniture, Pendle Mill Showrooms, Pendle Road, Clitheroe, Lancashire, BB7 1JQ, of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail to our supplied address). You may use the supplied model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery on items where delivery is included (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us). We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than (a)30 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied, or (b) (if earlier) 30 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods, or (c) if there were no goods supplied, 30 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

You shall send back the goods or hand them over to us without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. The cost of returning via our own driver or courier services will typically be £40 more than the original delivery charge, but you are welcome to arrange your own return through any suitable courier service. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

In the unlikely event that you find a fault with your item that you were not made aware of prior to purchase please contact us as soon as possible for a quick resolution of the issue. We will ask you for a full description of the issue and, if possible, photographs to help us offer an appropriate solution to the problem and to assist in any insurance claims. Please inspect your item on delivery for any damage that may have occurred during transit and, if using a third-party courier, inform the courier as well as us. For items where delivery was included in the price, please contact us directly. Your statutory rights are not affected.

In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website.

The inclusion of any links does not necessarily imply a recommendation or endorse the views expressed within them.

Every effort is made to keep the website up and running smoothly. However, WBFurniture takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.

This website contains material which is owned by or licensed to WBFurniture. This material includes, but is not limited to, the content, design, layout, look, appearance and graphics. Reproduction is prohibited unless permission has been expressly granted by one of the owners of WBFurniture. Do not copy, upload, download, spindle or mutilate. We reserve the right to restrict usage of this website however we see fit. Don’t break it.
