Terms and Conditions
We do our best to make sure our terms are clear, but if there’s anything you’re not sure of just give us a call on 01257 824 237 any time we are open or email [email protected] and we will be happy to help you. Please be aware that our terms are different for in-store purchases.
For the purposes of these terms and conditions, “you/your” refers to the customer, and “we/our/us” refers to Worthington Brougham Furniture Ltd.
For Items Sold From Stock
These terms apply only when you're buying something that we have in stock, not something that is being made for you.
Payment
Ownership of the goods you are buying from us transfers to you once we have received payment in full and the order has been confirmed by a member of staff. We will deliver your order to the address registered to your payment method. If you need delivery to a different address other than the one registered to your payment method, please contact us before making payment.
Delivery
We will do whatever we can to assist you, but it is your responsibility to make sure that the furniture you are buying can be delivered into your home. This includes checking the sizes of doorways, halls etc to make sure the furniture can be brought inside, as well as making sure there is enough space in the room itself, and that there is suitable access from the outside of the building.
Our standard delivery service is a one person delivery into your ground floor room of choice. Somebody will need to be available on the delivery day to assist the driver in bringing your furniture inside.
Additional Services
The following services may be added to your order on request, subject to approval from a member of staff. These services are not refundable if the service has been used or if the order is returned.
- Upstairs Delivery £50 per floor or flight
- 2 Person Delivery £50 (where available)
- Disposal of old furniture £50 per small item £75 per sofa
- Storage £50 per week after the first fortnight
Where we have agreed to include these additional services in the cost of your order, you should be aware that the cost of the services used will be deducted if the order is cancelled or returned.
Cancellations and Returns
If your furniture does not fit, or if you change your mind for any other reason, you can return it to us for a refund of the price paid for the item and the standard delivery charge. This is your statutory right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for distance sales. In order to return an item for a refund you must: 1. Contact us within 14 days of the item being delivered to notify us that you wish to cancel your order, 2. Either return the item yourself or allow us to arrange collection of it within 14 days of your having notified us of your intention to cancel. In addition to your statutory rights we also operate a 30 day no quibble returns policy whereby you can return your order for a credit note or exchange up to 30 days from receipt of the order.
For all furniture returns the return delivery charge is £1.20 per mile by road with a minimum charge of £120.
For small/postable item returns the return delivery can be arranged via a reliable parcel courier company at a cost of no more than £20 for the largest parcels such as a footstool, and considerably less than this for smaller items.
For all returns you may return the item in person, arrange your own return delivery or use our returns service for furniture. You must take good care of anything you want to return to us, and make sure that it comes back to us in the same condition as it was when you received it, including all accessories. If the item in question is returned dirty, damaged or with missing parts, we will deduct the cost of cleaning, repair or replacement parts. We reserve the right to refuse change of mind returns of dirty, damaged or incomplete items if you notify us after the first 14 days have elapsed. Cleaning of upholstery costs up to £60 per seat, the cost of repairs will depend on the nature of the damage.
Some of our in stock items are ex-display or clearance. These items may have minor cosmetic defects which are described in the item listing, and they are priced accordingly. We do our best to make sure that our online descriptions and photographs are as accurate and thorough as possible, but the appearance of colours can be subjective and varies depending on lighting, screen settings etc. For this reason we cannot guarantee any specific colour or shade unless a sample has been provided.
If you discover an issue with an item on delivery that you were not aware of at the time of purchase we ask that you do not sign for the delivery, but instead contact us as soon as possible.
For Items that are Made to Order
The following terms apply to all orders where your purchase is being made for you. This includes anything described as "made to order", "bespoke" or part of our "your choice" range.
Payment
When you place your order you will be asked to pay a deposit. Once your order has arrived in store we will contact you to confirm the delivery date and make arrangements for payment of the balance. Balance payments are due within 7 days of arrival in store, and at least 2 working days prior to any booked delivery date.

Cancellations and Returns
Because your furniture is being made to order it is not covered by the same cancellation and returns policy as our clearance and ready-to-go stock.
Your order will be submitted to the manufacturers as soon as possible after payment of the deposit. All items from our "Your Choice" and “Made to order” ranges are considered bespoke. For cancellations or amendments before delivery we will do our best to mitigate any costs and will issue a full credit note where possible, but we may charge up to 30% of the order value based on what our suppliers charge us, and we may refuse a cancellation if the cost would exceed this charge. We cannot guarantee to accept cancellations or returns after a bespoke or made to order item has been delivered.
In the unlikely event you encounter an issue with your order please contact us immediately. All made-to-order products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty from the date of delivery.
